FRIENDS AND FAMILY TEST

The Friends and Families Test (FFT) is a feedback tool that supports the fundamental principal that people that use NHS Services should have the opportunity to provide feedback on their experience that can be used to improve services. It is not a traditional survey. It is a continuous feedback loop between patients and practices.

The FFT questions ask people if they would recommend the services they have used and give a range of responses.

You are able to give this feedback in the Surgery or online, if you have been to see a Clinician or had contact with the surgery for another reason.

Please use the link on the right under "Have Your Say"

Thank you to all those patients who have taken part in the friends and family test.  We are happy to report the following results for Jan-March 2016:

How likely are you to recommend our GP Surgery to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?

Shingles vaccine to be routine for people in their 70s

People in their 70s across the UK will be offered a vaccine against shingles from this September. Experts have been recommending routine immunisation against the disease, which causes a painful rash, some patients can experience prolonged pain for many years.

The government-led programme will target 70 (2.9.43-1.9.44), 78 (2.9.35-1.9.36) and 79-year-olds (2.9.34 - 1.9.35) in the first instance and should prevent tens of thousands of cases a year. Elderly people are at greatest risk, the vaccination should prevent nearly half of cases in the over-70s.

It is estimated that, in England alone, around 800,000 people will be eligible to receive it in the first year.

Shingles can be a nasty disease for older people and can lead to long-term health problems for around 14,000 people each year. This new vaccine can prevent some of the most serious cases, giving people the chance to live without the discomfort and pain that shingles causes.
